Tempura

Tempura is a deep-fried fish and vegetables in light batter. The batter is prepared to end up very crispy when fried. It is usually eaten with tempura sauce made from dashi, soy sauce and mirin. Sometimes a simple salt is used. Even though tempura is a deep-fried dish, it can be nutritious as it uses fish and vegetables. Fish is full of good protein and vegetables are full of vitamin and minerals. But it is to be reminded that it is high in fat content so it should not be overeaten. Also, the more batter used on the tempura will increase your calorie intake, so you have to be careful. There are many tempura restaurants and Japanese restaurants that offer tempura in Japan, but tempura originated in Portugal.
