Sapporo Miso Ramen

Ramen Noodle is considered a traditional food in Japan and is enjoyed by many people around the world. One of the most famous ramen from Hokkaido region is called Miso Ramen. Soup is made mainly from chicken and pork broth. Thickness of the soup comes from the main ingredient, which is miso. Miso ramen uses thick, curly noodles, which works great with thick soup. Bean sprouts, carrots, and minced pork(instead of Chashu, which is commonly used in ramen noodles) are pan fried and mixed with soup. The oil in the ingredients enhances the flavor, and also works as a lid to keep the soup warm by coating the top of the soup. The main ingredient in the soup is Miso, a traditional Japanese seasoning made from fermenting soybeans with koji and salt. Health benefits of miso are endless, but most recognized benefits are for your digestive system, as when cooked with high fiber vegetables, it helps to keep colon healthy. Miso also contains a good source of antioxidants and peptides to help boost your metabolism and keep the body warm, thus very popular during cold winter months.
